ST. LOUIS - A 6-year-old boy identified by police as Antone Little III died May 29, 2026, days after suffering a gunshot injury in what St. Louis County police said was an accidental shooting at a home on Midlothian Road in north St. Louis County.

Police said the shooting happened at about 2:25 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Officers responding to the home found the child with a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries on Friday, May 29, 2026.

A remembrance fund created by his mother, Tameka Hughley, says the family is seeking help with funeral expenses, memorial costs, and other unexpected financial burdens following Antone Little III’s death.

“In Loving Memory of my Precious 6-year-old son, Antone Little III,” the fundraiser says. “Our family is facing an unimaginable tragedy after the heartbreaking loss of my beloved 6-year-old son.”

The fundraiser says Antone “suffered a gunshot injury in an accidental shooting and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.” It adds, “Despite the efforts of medical staff and the prayers of so many, he sadly passed away from his injuries.”

The family described Antone as “a bright, loving child whose smile brought joy to everyone around him.” The fundraiser says he loved “playing with his friends, spending time with family, and was always full of laughter and kindness.”

“As we grieve this devastating loss, we are asking for support to help cover funeral expenses, memorial costs, and other unexpected financial burdens during this difficult time,” the fundraiser says. “Every donation, prayer, and share means more than words can express.”

The fundraiser closes with a tribute to him: “Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.”
