ST. LOUIS - Steve Holley, the longtime executive director of St. Louis Guns ’N Hoses, has died at age 70, according to an announcement from St. Louis Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Tracy and a statement from the organization’s president.
Holley was remembered as a leading advocate for first responders and charitable causes in the St. Louis region. In a message to members of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department on Monday, Tracy called him “one of the most influential advocates for public safety and charitable giving in our region.”

Budweiser Guns ’N Hoses said in a statement that it was “deeply saddened by the passing of Steve Holley, longtime Executive Director of Budweiser Guns ’N Hoses.”
The organization said Holley “dedicated much of his life to supporting the mission of Guns ’N Hoses and The BackStoppers, helping raise millions of dollars to assist the families of fallen first responders throughout our community.”
His “leadership, friendship, and commitment to others left an immeasurable impact on our organization and on countless lives across the St. Louis region,” the statement said.
The statement was issued on behalf of the organization by David M. Stokes, president of the St. Louis Guns ’N Hoses Boxing Association.
“On behalf of the entire Guns ’N Hoses family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Holley family,” Stokes said.
The organization also said that, at the family’s request, “their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
