SOUTH ROXANA – A local woman accused of invading a South Roxana apartment and attacking two residents with a baseball bat faces major felony charges.

Paige L. Scarborough, 19, of Wood River, was charged on June 9, 2026 with three Class X felony counts of home invasion and two Class 3 felony counts of aggravated battery.
Two days prior on June 7, Scarborough allegedly knowingly entered an occupied apartment in South Roxana without authority while armed with a baseball bat and a taser. She reportedly struck two occupants with the baseball bat, causing one of the victims to sustain lacerations to the head which required medical treatment.
One of the victims told police that his “ex-girlfriend,” Scarborough, “entered his residence without permission armed with a baseball bat and taser,” according to the state’s petition to deny Scarborough’s pretrial release from custody. The victim said Scarborough moved out a week prior and he had changed the locks on the apartment.
The petition states “numerous witnesses” saw Scarborough armed while in the residence. Officers later found Scarborough and the baseball bat at her residence in Wood River, where she reportedly admitted to the offense.
The South Roxana Police Department presented the case against Scarborough, who was ordered remanded to jail for her initial court appearance in this case.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
