ST. LOUIS - A woman believed to be in her 30s was struck and killed early Saturday, July 18, 2026, while crossing Gravois Avenue near Ohio, and Accident Reconstruction investigators are now leading the investigation, authorities said.

St. Louis District 3 officers were called to the 2700 block of Gravois near Ohio at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2026, for a report of a person hit by a car.

When officers arrived, they found a female pedestrian who had been struck. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Gravois through the intersection of Ohio when it hit the pedestrian.

Authorities said it appeared the pedestrian was crossing Gravois in the middle of the block, not at the intersection and not using a crosswalk.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The woman has not been publicly identified.

Family notification is pending.

The investigation is ongoing.
