BOND COUNTY - A rural Sorento, Illinois, man was arrested Aug. 11, 2026, by the Bond County Sheriff’s Department on two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child 13 Years of Age or Younger, authorities said.

David A. Linville was arrested after an investigation involving allegations of crimes against children, the department said.

Bond County Sheriff Josh Hill and the department commended the sergeant and detective who worked throughout the investigation, saying their efforts helped bring the case forward and provide a measure of justice for the victims.

The department said investigations involving allegations of crimes against children can be tedious, complex and emotionally demanding, and it appreciated the professionalism, persistence and commitment demonstrated during the case.

The sheriff’s department also thanked the Madison County Child Advocacy Center for its assistance and support throughout the investigation, as well as Bond County State’s Attorney Dora Mann for her efforts in pursuing the case.
