EDWARDSVILLE – The Edwardsville High School Tiger Talk Podcast Network has received a 2026 School Journalism Grant for $816.34 from the Illinois Press Foundation and Illinois Farm Bureau.

The grant funding has helped students purchase a new video mount stabilizer and audio equipment to enhance the quality of their podcast productions, both in and out of the studio.
The grant was presented to podcasting students by Jeff Rogers, executive director of the Illinois Press Foundation and Capitol News Illinois, and Emma Brown, representative of the Madison County Farm Bureau.
This marks the fourth consecutive year the Edwardsville High School Tiger Talk Podcast Network has received the School Journalism Grant. With the support of the funding, students continue to elevate and expand their productions while developing skills in journalism, storytelling, audio production and video production.
Sponsored by Nicole Pontious and Dave Lipe, the Tiger Talk Podcast Network produces two podcasts:
- The Jungle: The official sports podcast of Edwardsville High School.
- Tiger Spotlight: A podcast highlighting the Edwardsville Tiger community.
Since its inception in 2022, the network has produced nearly 250 episodes and reached 14,000 plays to date.
