O’Dell is accused of driving a green 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle on North State Street at Hollow Avenue in Jerseyville the day prior on Sept. 29, when he allegedly failed to stop the vehicle after being given a visual or audible signal from a police officer. His attempted flight from the officer exceeded 21 miles per hour above the legal speed limit, according to charging documents.

A probable cause statement contained in O’Dell’s cite and release order states he acknowledged the officer’s audible siren and emergency lights “by waving at” the officer “before speeding off at a much greater speed than 21 mph over the posted speed limit.”

O’Dell was ordered released pending trial with a notice to appear at the Jersey County Courthouse on Oct. 27, 2026.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
