“Today is a very important day for Democracy and for our country,” Barham said.

Barham described enthusiasm for early voting as positive and said he believed it had made a significant impact. His Election Day outreach included walking through Alton Acres, where he noted a polling place was at the center, before moving to Oakwood, which also had a voting location and other locations.

He said he was pleased people were turning out but viewed participation as an effort that needed to continue.

Barham said he saw some anxiety among voters today, who said they are struggling to pay bills and put gas in their vehicles.
