EAST ALTON — Police searching for a suspect following an earlier domestic incident in Alton found his vehicle at a house on North Ninth in East Alton. He initially refused to come out, but at 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, after a perimeter was formed by law enforcement, he left the home and was taken into custody.

Officers established a perimeter around the house, and the Metro East SWAT team was requested after police located the vehicle.
East Alton, Alton Police, and Madison County Sheriff's Office members, along with Illinois State Police, responded.
