EDWARDSVILLE – An Alton man faces a felony for his latest DUI offense after he reportedly drove under the influence of drugs and alcohol in Edwardsville.

Shawn O. Bell, 42, of Alton, was charged with a Class 4 felony count of aggravated driving under the influence and a Class A misdemeanor count of driving while license is revoked.
Bell allegedly drove a Hyundai Tiburon on New Poag Road in Edwardsville while under the combined influence of alcohol and or other drugs or intoxicating compounds on Sept. 21, 2025.
Charging documents state that at the time of this latest DUI offense, Bell’s driving privileges had been revoked or suspended due to a prior DUI violation.
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) Police Department presented the case against Bell, who was granted pretrial release from custody.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
