ALTON – An Alton man has been charged with firing a weapon from a neighborhood driveway, endangering nearby residents.

Alexander D. Radcliff, 24, of Alton, was charged on Dec. 18, 2025, with one count each of reckless discharge of a firearm (a Class 4 felony) and possession of a firearm without a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card (a Class A misdemeanor).
Radcliff allegedly fired a weapon in a reckless manner on Oct. 2, 2025, and endangered the bodily safety of residents in the 900 block of Bradley Street in Alton and neighboring residences.
Charging documents state Radcliff fired a .22 caliber revolver while seated in a vehicle in a driveway in the residential neighborhood, with “multiple occupied dwellings in close proximity.” Radcliff’s possession of the weapon was reportedly unlawful as his FOID card had been revoked.
The Alton Police Department presented the case against Radcliff, who was ordered remanded to jail for his initial appearance in court.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
