Drivers are urged to reduce speed, remain alert for changing conditions, and plan alternate routes near the work zone. The city said motorists should expect delays, obey construction signage, and avoid distractions, including mobile device use, while approaching and traveling through the area.

Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic, and detour signs will be in place, according to the city. Signs will also be posted before traffic pattern changes on side streets.

The city said residents will have access to their homes, but through traffic is encouraged to avoid the area whenever possible and use alternate routes.

The city also warned drivers not to move or drive around traffic control barricades, saying violators may be cited and prosecuted.
