The Belleville Police Department said it is aware of a “social media-promoted event planned for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Citizens’ and Bellevue Parks” and said the events “are not permitted or authorized by the City of Belleville and will not be allowed to take place.”
The Belleville Police Department said officers will be present “to enforce city ordinances and maintain public safety.”

“The Belleville Police Department’s priority is public safety,” the department said in a statement. “After last weekend’s large gathering at Citizens’ Park, which involved reckless driving near bystanders, fights, reports of possible firearms, and an officer being battered, we are taking proactive steps to prevent a similar incident from happening again.”
Belleville Police also reminded parents and guardians that “knowingly permitting a minor to engage in conduct that breaks the peace or violates a municipal curfew ordinance may subject them to enforcement under applicable state law and city ordinance.”
Belleville Police pointed out under the Permit Requirement for Outdoor Events & Assemblies, Belleville Code § 111.060 states: “No person, partnership, corporation, organization, or group shall promote, advertise, operate, conduct, or participate in any public or quasi-public exhibition, demonstration, show, festival, parade, similar planned event, or other outdoor assembly of persons, which is directly or indirectly advertised or touted in the public press, radio, or television, or to which large numbers of people are directly or indirectly invited to attend, unless the person, partnership, corporation, organization, or group promoting, advertising, operating, or conducting the same shall first have obtained a permit from the City Clerk.”
Under the Improper Supervision of Children Act, 720 ILCS 640/1: “Any parent, legal guardian or other person commits improper supervision of a child when he knowingly permits a child in his custody or control under the age of 18 years to associate with known thieves, burglars, felons, narcotic addicts or other persons of ill repute, visit a place of prostitution, commit a lewd act, commit an act tending to break the peace or violate a municipal curfew ordinance.”
