For her dedication, Brianna Smith is a Student of the Month for Southwestern High School.

Smith, a senior, started cheerleading years ago. She loves the athleticism and hard work that it requires. Every practice, game and competition bring her plenty of joy as she pushes herself to perform even better.

Being a student athlete requires a lot of responsibility and devotion to the sport. It also requires students to find a balance between their sport and their academics.

While many people struggle to manage this, Smith makes it look effortless. She works hard in everything she does, and cheerleading is just another example of her commitment to her own success.

Though she doesn’t have a ton of free time, she enjoys spending the time she does have with her friends and family. She is looking ahead to life after graduation.

“[I plan to] attend Lewis and Clark Community College and possibly pursue a career in criminal justice,” Smith shared.

Her loved ones and teachers will take a page out of Smith’s book and cheer her on, loud and proud of her work.

Congratulations to Brianna for this recognition from Southwestern High School!
