Brighton BMX State Qualifier Gold Cup

Unlike a typical race weekend, the Brighton event served as both a Gold Cup Qualifier and an Illinois State Championship Qualifier in a single competition, allowing riders to advance in multiple championship series in a single event. Throughout the day, spectators lined the fencing surrounding the track as racers navigated jumps, berms, and rhythm sections in pursuit of strong finishes. The atmosphere reflected the family-oriented culture that has helped BMX continue to grow, with volunteers, coaches, parents, and local supporters contributing to the success of the weekend. Brighton BMX operates as a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization and relies on community support to help host the large-scale event.

The event also highlighted Brighton BMX’s role as a key racing destination in the St. Louis metro area and Southern Illinois region. The facility regularly hosts local races and developmental programs while attracting riders from multiple states for larger championship events.

As the racing season continues, the successful turnout and enthusiastic participation at the Gold Cup and Illinois State Qualifier underscore the strong momentum of BMX racing in the Midwest and the growing reputation of Brighton BMX as a premier venue for competitive cycling events.
