WORDEN – A Bunker Hill man’s reportedly reckless driving has resulted in an injury to a road worker and a felony charge in Madison County.

Duane A. Young, 42, of Bunker Hill, was charged on Dec. 9, 2025 with one count each of aggravated reckless driving (a Class 4 felony) and driving while license is suspended (a Class A misdemeanor).
Young allegedly drove a motor vehicle on Wieseman Road in Worden with a willful and wanton disregard for the safety of people or property on Sept. 18, 2025, during which his driver’s license was suspended.
Charging documents state Young drove eastbound past signage indicating road work was underway and failed to slow his vehicle or yield to road workers. He reportedly struck a backhoe which was in the roadway, which then struck a road worker and caused the worker to suffer a broken ankle.
Young was ultimately ordered released from custody pending trial in the case presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
