HARDIN - David A. Depper, 40, who is listed as homeless, was arrested March 23 in Jersey County on a felony warrant alleging he falsified or altered a court-ordered drug test required as a condition of his pretrial release in an unrelated case, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said Depper was ordered on Feb. 10, 2026, to submit to a court-authorized drug analysis as a condition of his pretrial release on “another unrelated arrest.” The sheriff’s office said samples were collected and submitted to Calhoun County Pre-Trial Services, then reviewed by members of that office and the sheriff’s office.
The matter was forwarded to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation, the release said. “Subsequent to an investigation, it is alleged that Depper had falsified or altered the test,” the sheriff’s office said.
On March 19, 2026, the Calhoun County State’s Attorney’s Office issued a felony warrant for Depper for the offense of defrauding a drug and alcohol screening test, the sheriff’s office said.
Depper was arrested March 23 by law enforcement officials with the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office on the warrant, according to the release.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said it thanked the Calhoun County Pre-Trial Services Office, the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office and the Calhoun County State’s Attorney’s Office for their assistance.
