The Tigers' defense, led by Jahzara Zakkour, was almost unstoppable all night and played havoc with the Flyers' offense.

"In every conference game we feel it's like a championship game," Head Coach Hay of the Tigers said on Thursday morning, Sept. 17, 2026, waiting in anticipation for an evening contest against another rival Thursday evening - Belleville West.

Hay said the team struggled somewhat offensively in the contest until the fourth quarter, but it was great to pull out a conference win over such a tough opponent as East St. Louis.
