O'FALLON, Ill. - Last week, Jimmy Ford, Republican candidate for State Representative in the 112th District, joined the O’Fallon Police Department for a ride-along to see firsthand the critical work officers perform every day.
“I was immensely grateful for the opportunity to ride along with the O’Fallon Police Department and see what these brave officers face on any given shift,” said Ford. “Every elected official should do this to understand the complexities of the job and develop a true appreciation for our law enforcement officers.”

Ford is running to restore public safety in his district and across Illinois. A strong supporter of law enforcement, he has pledged to stand with officers and fight for safer communities throughout the Metro East.
“I will always have the backs of our law enforcement officers,” Ford said. “They do incredibly difficult work and provide an invaluable service to our community. When I’m in office, they will have an unwavering advocate.”
Ford noted that policies coming out of Springfield have undermined law enforcement and made it harder for officers to do their jobs. If elected, he will work to repeal the SAFE-T Act and oppose any legislation that harms public safety.
“Katie Stuart has put criminals over cops, and the results have been disastrous,” said Ford. “We need to give law enforcement the tools they need to keep our communities safe.”
