All lanes are expected to reopen by 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 12.

EAST ST. LOUIS – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that westbound Interstate 64 will be reduced to one lane between Ninth Street and the westbound I-55 merge in St. Clair County for bridge maintenance.

The lane closures will occur at the following times:

  • Wednesday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Beginning Friday, April 10, at 9 a.m. through Sunday, April 12, at 9 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
