For her hard work, LaZarria Thomas is a Student of the Month for Edwardsville High School.
Thomas, a senior, is a member of Edwardsville’s Black Student Union and Drama Club. She is a natural leader who enjoys collaborating with her classmates to find success, whether that’s through a performance, a volunteer opportunity, or another activity.
She also serves as a dance captain on a dance team called The Afrokuumba Dancers. Thomas is an impressive dancer and performer. She has performed at the Fabulous Fox Theater, which is a major accomplishment. She works hard to make sure she is at the top of her game.
In her free time, she often helps her mother at a local hair salon. She also enjoys painting, dancing for fun, and binge-watching Michael Jackson videos.
She plans to perfect her craft over the summer so she can find success in college. She received a scholarship to Lindenwood University and can’t wait to join their ranks. Her teachers and loved ones will be rooting for her through it all.
“I always try my best, even when things are challenging, and I stay focused on my goals,” she added. “I treat others the way I want to be treated, and I try to bring a positive attitude wherever I go!”
