ROXANA — The Roxana High School football team will face St. Joseph-Ogden in the second round of the Illinois High School Association Class 3A playoffs at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Roxana High School. The game will be streamed live on Riverbender.com, thanks to the Roxana Booster Club and other video sponsors.

Roxana, which defeated West Frankfort 55-26 in the first round, enters the matchup with a 7-3 overall record. St. Joseph-Ogden also holds a 6-4 overall record heading into the contest.
Roxana Athletic Director Mark Briggs expressed enthusiasm about the live broadcast and the support from the Roxana Booster Club.
“The Roxana boosters are extremely supportive of Roxana athletics in general, and I am so thankful for all they do for the different programs,” Briggs said.
Briggs noted the significance of the playoff appearance for the community.
“This is only the second time in school history we have made the football playoffs four consecutive years in a row. We are known for being a football school. The game will bring a lot of people back home, and we are hoping to get into the third round of the playoffs with a win,” he said.
The Roxana Shells are coached by Wade DeVries, who has consistently led the team to postseason appearances.
