The restrictions are scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 28, at 7 a.m., weather permitting, in Collinsville. IDOT said District 8 Operations crews need to perform “necessary emergency bridge repairs.” All lanes are expected to reopen by 3 p.m. Thursday, April 30.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area, the agency said. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in work zones, obey posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices, and be alert for workers and equipment.

For IDOT District 8 updates, the agency said motorists can follow @IDOTDistrict8 on the social media platform X or view area construction details on IDOT’s traveler information map at GettingAroundIllinois.com.
