MADISON/JERSEY - A chase involving a stolen trailer tractor truck crossed multiple county and state lines before ending in a crash and an arrest in Missouri, authorities said.

The pursuit began in Madison County and moved into Jersey County before returning to Madison County and crossing the Clark Bridge in Alton into Missouri, where the driver crashed in Orchard Farms, Mo., according to information provided by the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office and Madison County officials. The suspect then fled on foot but was taken into custody.

Madison County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chief Marcos Pulido said Madison County assisted in the apprehension and that “in the end, there was a foot chase of the suspect and they were apprehended in Missouri.” The Jersey County Sheriff's Office also assisted in the chase.

Authorities said the truck tractor was stolen and did not stop when officers tried to stop it. Officials said spike strips were used, and the vehicle later crashed near Orchard Farm, where the driver ran before being apprehended.
