These organizations represent thousands of first responders across Illinois. Their endorsements recognize Elik’s advocacy for police officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel, as well as her efforts to support the resources they need to protect and serve their communities.
“Supporting first responders ought to be a priority for every legislator in Springfield, but unfortunately that’s not important to some of my colleagues,” said Elik. “I will always lead the fight against Chicago politicians’ attempts to weaken public safety and undermine our first responders. I am proud to have the support of these groups this election cycle because they know I will always have their backs.”
Elik’s endorsements also extend to local law enforcement leaders.
“As law enforcement continues to face growing challenges, we need the right leaders with the right experience serving as our voice in the State House,” said Sheriff Jeff Connor. “Amy Elik has proven to be a strong voice for public safety and first responders. Let’s send Amy back to Springfield to keep leading for us.”
Early voting is currently open. Visit the Madison County Clerk’s website for more information about how and where to early vote. Election Day is November 3.
