ALTON — Sharon Dugas, a senior at Marquette Catholic High School, was recognized recently for her leadership in academic excellence at the school.

Dugas, the daughter of Patrick and Laura Dugas, has achieved a 4.53 GPA and completed 34 college dual credit hours. She has consistently appeared on the High Honor Roll and has taken multiple Advanced Placement and Honors classes, earning the distinction of AP Scholar.
Dugas was one of the Students of the Month for December 2025 during a Rotary Club of Alton-Godfrey meeting held at Gentelin’s on Broadway Restaurant.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dugas has been an active member of the Marquette girls' volleyball team for four years and recently received the Sportsmanship Award.
She is heavily involved in numerous organizations at Marquette Catholic. Dugas holds leadership positions as President of the Interact Club, Vice President of the Student Council, and Service Coordinator for the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the Breast Cancer Awareness Club and has completed more than 100 service hours.
Looking ahead, Dugas plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Purdue University, or the University of Alabama.
She also attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Alton.
