Brant Bushue

Brant Andrew Bushue, 28, of St. Louis, Missouri, and formerly of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. He was born February 18, 1998, in Granite City, a son of Kathy Ann (Lucansky) Woolsey and the late Brant Hogan Bushue.

He married the love of his life, Mercedes Tamara (Gregory) Bushue, on March 20, 2021, at Second Baptist Church in Granite City.

Brant was a truck driver with Bimbo Bakeries in St. Louis, delivering Sara Lee sweets and goodies for all to enjoy. He had a lifelong love for baseball and always enjoyed playing and watching the game. Brant had a big personality, a great sense of humor and a way of bringing laughter and fun wherever he went. He treasured spending time with his family and friends and cherished the many special memories they shared.

Above all, Brant was a wonderful and loving daddy. His children were the center of his world, and he was always there to guide, protect and care for them. He will be remembered for his love for his family, his outgoing personality and the joy and laughter he brought to those around him.

In addition to his beloved wife and cherished mother, he is survived by three children, Brant Andrew Bushue Jr., Kannon Daniel Bushue and Nolan Maximalin Bushue; his grandparents, Patricia Ann Mullally of Villa Park, Illinois, and William Albert Lucansky of Rockford, Illinois; two brothers, Stephen Michael Bushue of Fort Myers, Florida, and Matthew David Henderson of Farmington, Missouri; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shontay and Juan Gregory of Madison, Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Juan Emil Gregory and Kendal Jevon Gregory, both of Madison, Illinois; many aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; cousins; other extended family and many friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his cherished sister, Michelle Ann Bushue and grandparents, Marsha Jean and Edwin Adrian Bushue.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Second Baptist Church, 2100 Illinois Avenue in Granite City, with Reverend Chris Sedabres officiating.

Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City.

Memorials may be made to the family and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
