Dorothy Ready

JERSEYVILLE-  Dorothy Mae Ready, 77, died at 8:50 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013 at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo. after a brief illness.She was born in Wood River on July 21, 1935, and was the only child born to the late Robert Kenneth & Linda Catherine (Presley) Ready.Dorothy graduated with the Class of 1953 from Jersey Community High School,  and married Jesse E. Ready on Oct. 2, 1954 at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Dow.Dorothy enjoyed her time spent on the farm, and was most content being at home and enjoying her family.Surviving are her husband, Jesse Ready of Jerseyville; a daughter, Marcia Ready of Jerseyville; a son & daughter in law, Kenneth & Beverly Ready of Jerseyville; four grandchildren & their spouses, Jessica & Drew Purcell of Carbondale, Brett LeMarr, and his companion, Ashley of Jerseyville, Blake & Lisa LeMarr of Grafton, and Brandan & Melissa LeMarr of Jerseyville; three great grandchildren, Aliyah, Dawson & Wyatt.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Meadowbranch Cemetery in Grafton.Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association
