Eleanor M. Zigrang, 95, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at her home in Godfrey.
Born October 8, 1916 in Granite City, she was the daughter of Harry A. and Wanda (Amberg) Wilson. She enjoyed playing bridge and golf. On January 4, 1937 she married Vincent Paul Zigrang at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1995.
Surviving is a daughter, Elaine Wardein of Godfrey, three grandchildren, Victoria Gabriel (David) of Austin, TX, Vincent Wardein (Alison) of Aurora, IL, and John Wardein of Aviston, IL, eight great grandchildren, Geoffrey Koch, Anna Koch, Mathew Gabriel, Elizabeth Gabriel, Katie Wardein, David Wardein, John Wardein Jr., and Sarah Wardein.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law, Ed Wardein, a granddaughter-in-law, Geri Ann Wardein, and two sisters, Dorothy Gisy and Margaret Kinser.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Pohlman will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Village or St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
