Jack Gaffney

Jack Gaffney passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2026 at only 22 years old.

Jack is survived by his beloved son, River; his parents, David and Michelle Gaffney; and many loving cousins, grandparents, and friends. All who cherished his memory.

Jack will be remembered for his love of Lego’s, driving golf carts and cars and the numerous different activities he participated in including swim team, Tae Kwon Do, soccer, piano, trap shooting, and multiple adventurous travels with his parents.

Jack attended Alton High School and Missouri Military Academy where he swam on the varsity swim team. He was midway through plumbing program at Ranken Technical College and was looking forward to returning to school in August. His family was proud of his decision to pursue a skilled trade and begin building a future for himself.

Jack’s life was far too short, but he leaves behind many fond memories that will remain with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a much-loved son and father, and his family will carry his memory with them for the rest of their lives. Jack will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life for Jack is planned for Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm at Alton - Wood River Sportsman’s Club (trap house), 3109 Godfrey Rd, Godfrey, IL 62035. All who knew Jack are welcome. Please no suits.
