James Edgar White, 66, passed away at 10:29 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on July 9, 1945 in Shawneetown, IL, the son of Wiley H. and Mary C. (Milligan) White.
He married Jennifer Ukena on January 28, 1983 in Edwardsville, IL. She survives.
James was in sales and customer relations at Olin Corporation until he retired. He attended the First Family Church of East Alton, formerly known as the First General Baptist. He enjoyed traveling, his pet birds, wood carving, aquariums, fish and his computer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kim and Dave Stark of Goshen, IN, Tammy and Dennis Stuby of East Alton and Leslie White of Springfield, IL; six grandchildren, Larry and Megan Stark, Becca Stark, Diana Stark, Mary Beth Stark, Stacey Chapman and Dennis “D.J” Stuby; great grandchildren, Ashlyn Stark and Macey Chapman; a nephew, S. Chris and Kim White and their children, Stephanie and Steven White.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Connie F. Blaine and her daughter, Jessica White.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 10 am on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Vaughn officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
