Melba Faye Crosnoe, 91, a longtime East Alton resident, passed away 12:35 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born in Wood River on August 31, 1924, she was the daughter of Samuel and Rose (Hefner) Henson.

After completing high school, she was employed by the Curtiss-Wright Aircraft Corporation then in her later years as a sales clerk at the East Alton Dairy Store.

On February 24, 1946 in Wood River she married Cecil Crosnoe.  He died December 18, 1996.

Surviving are a son, Sam (Ursula) Crosnoe of Washington, MO; daughter, Candace (Wayne) Mark of Godfrey; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her parents; husband; three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the First Community Church in Rosewood Heights, where she was a longtime member.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
