Myrtle Bock

Myrtle Margaret Bock, 91, died at 8:50 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at her home in Godfrey. Born December 19, 1920 in Alton, she was the daughter of Jessie Lawless and Alma (Weller) Lawless Melton. She married Hilbert Bock on December 21, 1935. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1979. On July 9, 1994, she married Ronald Bock Sr. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2010. Surviving are 8 children, Robert Bock Sr. of Brighton, Frank Bock Sr. (Judy) of Alton, James Bock Sr. (Diane) of Godfrey, Toni Poore (Dave) of Carrollton, Jackie Garrett (Frank Sr.) of Godfrey, Alma Rodgers (Doug) of Chesterfield, MO, Georgia Star Barnett of Gillespie, and Verna Gray of Alton, 36 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren, 92 great-great grandchildren, and three great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two brothers, Jack Lawless and Robert Lawless, and one sister, Anna Mae Schultz. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012. Reverend Carl Cook will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
