Rose Marie Luecht, age 90 of Godfrey died at 9:56 PM on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Morningside in Godfrey. She was born in Kane, IL on November 1, 1925 the daughter of the late Cletus and Edna (Witt) Hayes Sr. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1308 ladies auxiliary in Alton, past member of Alton American Legion ladies auxiliary and a gold star wife. She married Stanley Luecht in Alton on January 27, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1996. Surviving are one daughter; Paula Richards of Clearwater, FL, one son; Richard Luecht (Ann) of Godfrey and two brothers; Cletus Hayes Jr of Alton and David Hayes (Barb) of Alton, three sisters; Agnes Naylor of Alton, Florita Duncan of Alton and Linda Wense (Mike) of Alton. Rose was preceded in death by three sisters; Kate Cole, Dorothy May and Sara McNab. Graveside services were yesterday at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alton VFW Post 1308.
