Virginia Mae Stumpf (Hazelwonder), 91, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024.
She was born August 17, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Mable (Shanks) Hazelwonder. She married Forrest Harmon Stumpf on June 9, 1951 at St. Michael’s Church in Michael, IL. Forrest preceded her in death.
Together they farmed in Calhoun County until moving to Hardin, IL in 2005. Virginia (Ginny Mae) enjoyed being a homemaker, taking care of her children and grandchildren, crocheting, and putting together puzzles. She also enjoyed embroidering and quilting.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney and Tim (Angela) along with two daughters, Peggy (Richard) Montgomery, and Patricia (Dave) Grady.
Two daughters Judy (Ralph) Becker and Susan (Infant) preceded her in death.
Five grandchildren Jenny Montgomery, Jacob (Ashley) Montgomery, Bradley Grady, Kevin Grady and Dustin Stumpf. She is survived by one brother Edward (Mariclare) and preceded in death by four brothers, James, Donald, John and William along with four sisters Betty, Eileen, HElen and Ceceillia.
Visitation will be Monday, September 23, 2024, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Hardin.
Burial will be at St. Norbert’s Cemetery.
