UPDATE:Due to forecasted winds and rain, the Balloon Glow has been moved to Saturday, September 6th from 6:30 - 8:30pm. The Big Band Concert will go on as planned on Friday night and is free to attend. You can still purchase tickets for parking for the Balloon Glow. If you've already purchased tickets, they are good for Saturday.
New this year: Local balloonists will inhabit the farm for a spectacular balloon glow.
While massive hot air balloons glow in a bright rainbow of color, Scott Vignassi and his “Big Little Big Band” will be playing Count Basie-style jazz and swing as their lead singer does a pitch perfect rendition of Frank Sinatra. Scott and most of his band members are current or former Air Force Band members. Other services recruit their band members from within their ranks, but Air Force goes out and finds professional musicians in the public sector and asks them to join. These guys are phenomenal! You can even get up and dance if you’d like! There will also be another local band as an opener (TBD).
$20 per car gets your group into the combined event. 20% of all proceeds will be donated to our Millstadt First Responders.
LOCAL FOOD FOR SALE Roy-El Catering, a homegrown business, will also be there at the Balloon Glow/Big Band Concert with their “Taste of the States” food truck. You can purchase some amazing food such as St. Louis Smash Burgers and brisket sandwiches (you’ve got to try the French fries!). These guys love helping the community and Buttercup Ranch & Creamery is delighted to work with them to bring fun and deliciousness to the metro St Louis area for the second year in a row.
Donut Den, another local favorite, is also returning to serve up their freshly made donuts and frozen apple cider. Yum!
