Cuts 4 Class: Back-to-School Haircuts is a community outreach event hosted by S.E.R.V.E., a local nonprofit organization dedicated to giving back through acts of service. In partnership with Greater St. James Baptist Church and local barbershops and stylists, this event will provide free haircuts to students as they prepare for the upcoming school year, as well as free backpacks filled with school supplies. The event will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at House of Art Barbershop in East Alton. Free food and drinks will be provided. Services will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Services available include a haircut from skilled barbers, feed-in braids (up to 4 braids), and loc retwists. Student must arrive with washed and blow-dried hair. Cuts 4 Class is designed to ease the financial burden on families while boosting students’ confidence—because every child deserves to start the year looking and feeling their best.
